Conquest MedSchools tutors care about helping people from all backgrounds to make the most of their potential. We have been involved with a range of widening access initiatives and offer free-of-charge workshops to groups in particular schools across London, to raise awareness of how to get into medical school. If you can provide evidence of your financial situation, we will also offer UCAS review services for free and have bursaries which provide reduced rates on our courses.

Testimonials relating to our involvement with university-based and independent summer schools

"My time at Summer School had an immeasurably positive effect on me. I was rather unsure about pursuing a career in medicine due to my background and circumstances. But my time at the summer school convinced me that it was possible and cleared up many misconceptions I had about medicine. I was given the opportunities to see things and talk to healthcare staff whom I wouldn't have been able to contact otherwise and I think these experiences played a major part in helping me to secure an offer to study medicine."

"I had the opportunity of working as a medical student mentor on summer school with Marie-Claire and Fiona. The school’s objective was to help inspire and inform 16 year olds from less privileged backgrounds about what a career in medicine entails. Throughout the process, I found Fiona and Marie-Claire expressed real enthusiasm and genuine interest when interacting with students. They were able to impart knowledge in an accessible and open manner as well as allay student fears with great ease."

"It was a wonderful opportunity to volunteer as a medical student mentor at the summer school and to see how we could now make a difference to these students' outlook on higher education. I enjoyed encouraging the students to apply themselves to reach their potential in order to apply to medicine. It was great to see them becoming more enthusiastic and confident throughout the course of the summer school, and this was made all the more enjoyable by the inspiring and knowledgeable colleagues that we had the pleasure to work with."

"The summer school was a brilliant opportunity to see the increase in knowledge and confidence of the younger students as a result of our support. I found it to be a personal growth experience too, developing team working, communication skills and creativity- and indeed new friendships with the other medical student mentors."
